Football played on a busy street..

I dread when the sun comes out on a hot and sunny day! Don't get me
wrong, I love summer.
I just don't like those sunny kind of days where you know the only
thing your child lives for is his football! My son, as soon as he sees
the sun starts to plan his day. Gathering all of his friends telephone
numbers he calls them, giving them the time and place where they
will
meet. The rest of the morning would be spent with him begging to go out
earlier so he could have more time to play. As parents, you and i know
that in the summertime the sun goes down later so it might be
eight-thirty before he comes upstairs!
One evening my son decided that he was ready to come in at six o'clock.
I did not think much of it. I thought that maybe there was something on
the t.v. he wanted to watch. That day i did not go outside,so as i
washed the dishes suddenly i noticed my son was quiet(and unusual
event) and he was holding his face. I asked what happened he did not
want to answer me.
I thought about how my son was holding his face and decided to go to
the source, his friends! I asked the magic question and i had many
volunteers. It seems that as my son was running for the football he
kept on running unware of the parked car and ran into it. It was hard
to understand how anyone could run into something already parked, but
he did and i explained to him that if he would have come upstairs a
little earlier he might not have had black and blue eyes!
For the rest of the summer he just wanted to play baseball or just ride
his bike. The rest of the summer for me was fine because i knew that
football was out of the question!
