LISTEN TO THE WIND
1
Listen to the wind in the trees outside,
Crooning the sounds of the inner depths,
Stirring the passions of the inner soul,
That drift in the snowy dreams of night.
And when you awake with an aching heart,
Never knowing why you feel so lost,
Listen to the wind in the trees outside
And snuggle close between the clothes
Filled with the warmth that two bodies give,
Two feelings the same wherever they are
The scene the same in any bed
On lonely nights or snaked together,
Listen to the wind in the trees outside.
2
Listen to the wind in the trees out side
Carrying snowflakes to create a scene
Of unlasting beauty, covering the squalid
Dirt of time, Bury your head in
Its deep white fleece and never feel
It's murderous breath upon your face
Listen to the wind in the trees outside
3
What colour is the wind
When it weeps at night
And its sighs are light
As the thistle down
That caress my thoughts
On summer days such
As filter through my mind
Of a time I didn't frown.
