God Less America

GOD BLESS AMERICA
You use my name in vain
Denied my son's pain.
My arms wide open, you turn away.
But I love you all the same.
In the halcyon days
Your true, self-serving ways are displayed.
As if I couldn't see!
But in days of war
you now want me more
My how circumstances change
but I love you all the same
You call your superstition faith-
as if I don't know your religion's a crock!
Where is your voice when my son gets mocked?
You love to claim my name
like to manipulate the fame
but I love you all the same.
One nation under me?
I cringe while other nations ask how can this be
Over seas, believers die willingly just to worship me
Not like the "land of the free"
where social persecution is a far greater death.
It's not about being traditional
and you don't need to go behind a partition
Don't you know by now my love is unconditional?
In times of trouble you sigh with ease
saying everything will be okay
Because you'll beg, plead please, and say
God Bless the USA
Yes, I agree
God Bless the God Less America
because I love you all the same.
