Leather Lovers' Society

This happened when I was very young.I was about ten and very naughty.I would run about quite a lot.In the process I would wear out my shoes very often. My clothes would tear here and there.Despite the fact that buying new clothes and shoes was not a monetary problem for my parents they insisted that I learn to value the things I owned.Wel,my shoes suffered the most because I would use them very clumsily. When climbing a staircase I would jump two to three steps together all the while kicking hard at the walls.Though I had special shoes for playing soccer I would go to play in my school leather boots. These boots were not meant to stand such stress and strain and they did not.I would also use my boots to play what was known as 'stone cricket'.This involved using the boots as bat and stones from somewhere as ball.Naturally my shoes would last must much less than they were supposed to.I was least bothered about this because in my thinking shoes WERE supposed to be used thus.
Then,it happened. One day I was trying to jump over a whole flight of stairs.I missed my footing and the next thing I knew I was in a strange place.I heard many voices around me.There I was with my school boots torn open at the front. The men who were surrounding me all were carrying pieces of leather. They were in the process of making shoes I guessed. Then one of them spoke,"So,you have torn your shoes again."I said defiantly,"Yes I have." "You will have to repair it yourself this time."they declared."But who are you," I enquired. "We are",the strongest-looking man declared,"We are the Leather Lovers' Society."What was I to do. I was a ten year old boy and they were fully grown adults.I tried very hard to repair my shoes but was unable to do it.The more I tried the tougher it became.I began crying loudly,"I want my mommy."
Just then I woke up.I was lying at the foot of the staircase and my head was aching badly. There was no society of any kind in sight. But my lesson was learnt.I never misused my shoes ever agin in my life.
