Of course all my pet cows have names doesn’t everyone name their girls? My ladies will all come running when I call their names even the bull will eat out of my hand.
My newest baby calf was born on Feb-14. I named her Jackie. Everyone asks, “why didn't you name her Valentine”. I didn’t think of it at the time but that would have been a great name for her she is such a sweetie.
JoJo is my hottie! If I were a bull my nose would be stuck to her rump 24/7.
My favorite is Mandy a bottle baby. Her mother had a problem with her udder and could not nurse. I nearly lost her at birth. It took me three days to figure out why Mandy was constantly crying. I need more cowboy lessons. She went for 3 days without a drop of milk! It is amazing she did survive. Sipping on creek water was her only sustenance. She will always have a special place in my heart.
Katie I swear is as blonde as a black angus can be. From day one when she got her legs tangled up inside her mom she has found countless ways to display here “special needs”. Blondie here was the first to get pregnant this year wouldn’t you have guessed the blonde would have been first.
My 2000+ # bull is starting to pace the fence line making a lot of noise this morning. The opposite sex tends to drive us wild sometimes. Sammy is such a big gently boy, but even this tinhorn knows better then go near him this morning.
Jenny is the lead cow. The others would get lost without here. She has chased me around the pasture a time or two. She tends to be overly protective of the others at times but we don’t always get to choose who we love. As long as I’m able to take care of her she will have a home here with me.
