The Death Of Summer

The Death Of Summer,
Spectacular summer has died and grotesquely gone,
The caressing curtains of heat are now drawn,
Barron Behind dark clouds the sun shines no more,
The beautiful bright green leaves have fearfully fallen to the floor,
It is a new dark decaying dawn,
Curled up in a fiery corpse cocoon the leaves sound like crushed bones,
Now resting in a bright grave amongst dirt and stones,
Harvesting Halloween, the ghost of summer now but a breeze,
The infection of winter drops in with a sneeze,
All children dressed as scary creatures come out in their dreadful drones,
No more sparkling summer time sweets or Ice Creams,
Now bitterly replaced with children’s sour Screams,
The smell of heavenly heat and of birds screaming for joy,
All temporary, a decoy,
For the fall of the heat, the end of the dream
Smokey charcoal skies,
Bring tears to young children’s eyes,
As the crashing thunder and firefly lights invade the dark,
Lighting up the sky, spark after spark,
As autumn dies.
