Yesterday, I saw my face
But the lights had flickered out
Over on the north side of Vegas
The city that dies with grey skies
And an emergency orange sun
You say goodbye at desert graves
Where the dust has spread into a maze
That some sons stay lost in
The spirits of the ones you loved
Are the ones you feel you've let down
My father's eyes had a way to disguise
All the feelings that were boiling and leaking
Conversations have stopped relieving the pain for me
The open wounds never found a way to fade
Vegas will kill you if you keep remembering
Starlit nights on Soothing Surf Drive
And Red Pine Court
