Statement: the True Monstrosity

America has long been the wealthiest and most powerful nation on Earth... the majority of whose citizens are greatly blessed in wealth, comfort, industry, and general enjoyment. We've long greatly out-spent every other nation on Earth when it comes to the military... and we exert an imperial dominance over the Earth. We are similar to Rome in that our greatness arose from republican/democratic culture... but this democracy has stagnated into a violent and authoritarian plutarchy, to some degree at any rate. We still retain some degree of our former egalitarianism and other advancements and greatness.
Unfortunately, however, there's always abundant funding for new high-tech instruments of mass surveillance and mass death... But those American citizens who need a little help to find their footing in the rapidly changing economy receive not bread nor aid, but hand-cuffs and tear gas. The suffering of the oppressed is great, and seeks democratic address... but the doorways of true democracy have been blocked... often by the paper tigers of propaganda and the cult mythologies of the far-right, which tragically have become so 'mainstream' that they permeate our educational systems, our news media, and our corporate and political cultures.
Spy agencies routinely surveil and terrorize leading dissidents, even as we demonize(and invade) foreign nations for their alleged lack of democracy. What this amounts to is a monstrosity and nothing else!
