nothing exciting

we met in the teen club room
you were playing foosball
you challenged me to a game
and that was the beginning
at first we were both shy
small talk, awkward and rigid
but something about you
made me want to engage
you won three out of four games
then, sitting on those stupid bean bags
we talked for an hour
and everything else faded out
you lead me outside
onto the deck of the ship
asked for my hand
and i took it gracefully
we raced each other on the deck
laughing and shouting
not a care in the world
just the two of us alone
you took me to your room
laid me on the bed
softly and slowly
a gentle embrace
your lips met mine
softly at first
my hands found yours
and i forgot to be nervous
we kissed between whispers
and the rustling of sheets
taking it slow and steady
clumsy and awkward
and then we were one person, writhing
afterward, we lay together
you stroking my hair
listening to the quiet of us
only a few days
it felt shorter than it should have
on departure day, a hug and goodbye
never to see each other again
