A Good Scrap For England
When Harold went up to Stamford Bridge,
Way up North, to have a good scrap
He met up against the marauding Norse,
He won the day, their strategy was crap.
They left all their dead, yogurt and crisp bread,
In their haste forgetting to shut the backdoor,
After seeing off foreigners, Harold had a tot up,
One-nil it was decided, was the score.
Hurriedly they packed spears, arrows and bows,
Then set off home for the South,
To sort out King Billy from over in France,
Who had started to shoot off his mouth.
Down Chester-Le-Street, they dragged weary feet,
Stopping only for a fag and a pee,
Then on through Kent the gallant band went,
Resting awhile, in a cheap B&B.
On towards Battle by old Senlac Mound,
To face up to the French, led by King Bill,
English axes and swords flashed in the sun,
Harold fiercely defending his hill.
Spears and arrows, flew through the air,
Screams of the dying and near dead,
An arrow hit Harry, it went right in his eye,
So they fought on 'til supper, then fled.
So it's under the Norman's, we have to reside,
Things changed like never before,
Plundering and looting was the order of day,
So you'll need a strong lock on your door.
Now it's snails and frogs legs with flaky French stick,
And smelly camembert cheese in a wedge,
No more will the English taste sensible food,
Like a good curry or meat and three veg!
