Child, Wife, Mother
I looked in the mirror and what did I see?
a young girl looked back at me.
Smooth complexion, silky long hair,
Hazel eyes and a skin so fair.
She's growing up, she's growing up so fast,
her teenage years don't seem to last.
A young woman now, she finds the love of a man,
upon her finger he placed a wedding band.
So together in life they happily proceed,
and in her womb he planted a seed.
A tiny new life begins to grow,
onward in joy, forward they go.
A tiny new baby, kicking inside her,
a nine month wait, and now a proud mother.
Going on to have child two then three,
creating a unit known as family.
Years gone by and in the mirror I see,
an older woman is looking back at me,
duller complexion the odd grey hair,
the same hazel eyes, added wrinkles here and there.
The childish look of the young girl gone,
a wife and a mother I have become.
