A cold fall

Calvin shuddered as he realized he had to fight the cold. He sat up,
as the thoughts of rushing and hurrying started to sprout into his
mind. His room was an amazing sight; Blues and yellows, all seeming to
blur into each other. Calvin's mind began to drift again. Sliding in
and out, blue skies, memories; it is going to be cold.
The boat was a dark green. Patches of paint had chipped away over
time, leaving soft brown shades of love screaming down the sides.
Looking up he notices a figure, standing close. Standing he felt the
warm breeze, and the scent of the autumn air. It crept up his nose and
lingered in his mind for perhaps a moment to long. The rocking started
to make Calvin sick.
"I have to go!" Screamed Calvin, but he knew he would leave soon
enough. Turning, he felt the warm sun brush his face, leaving him
nothing but a careless childhood grin. The feeling of satisfaction, of
accomplishment swelled up in his now pouted chest. Happiness. Calvin
felt his insides warm and his eyes water. Rocking, slowly, gently,
Calvin felt it creep up. The fall always brings a cold breeze, when the
sun starts to warm your face.
Facing the figure, Calvin's vision began to focus. He could not make
out who or what&;#8230;
The puking exploded Calvin back into pain. Falling, Calvin grasps for
help, but only got ignored. I only have on one shoe Calvin thought. I
must hurry. The waves were rocking the boat. He fell again. This time
feeling the wet oak caress his face.
"I must get up. Oh god, please. My legs, oh God its going to be
cold."
Looking up he saw the figure and reached out for help. Mustering all he
had left he found one knee and then stood shaking. He could see the
snow falling gently upon the windowsill. The cool fall breeze rode in
on the white flakes.
"Oh God please, plea, pleas please help&;#8230;" Calvin's eyes were
full of tears. He fell once more. This time he felt the warm sun on his
shoulder. Looking up, Calvin saw the figures hand. He reached
out.
"Looks kinda sad don' it" said the officer.
"Yeah, it's a damn shame. Kids these days. Fail a test or your
girlfriend dumps you, and that's it." Said Murphy.
Calvin's body was found a day later. His snow-covered windowsill began
a white trail to the floor. It had only lightly cover the beer cans and
whiskey bottle. He had on his jacket and a shoe. It was a cold day. His
body lay pale and stiff among the pills that littered the floor. If
only he would have hurried, he would have been able to reach the
hospital in time.
