Friendship

Like the embers of a bonfire
that warm the coldest night.
Like the single flickering candle
cheers the darkness with it's light.
Like the ebb and flow of oceans
in the moon's relentless thrall,
like the eons slowly passing
as the mountains rise and fall.
Like the heartbeat of the planet,
like the ever changing weather,
Friendship is the glue-
