Journey

I'm going on a journey
down the road that links the future to the past.
And the only load I carry
is the love I have for those I've left behind
I take with me the memories
of a life I filled with laughter and with joy,
and I'm following a road that leads to places only pictured in my
mind.
And all I ask of you is that you miss me
just a little, now and then.
Laugh when you speak of me,
as you would when speaking of an absent friend.
And know that I'll be waiting,
if it takes until the stars begin to fall.
When you walk the road that I took,
walk fast, and I'll be waiting at the end.
