Is it just me, or is it not a dead giveaway that certain words in our
language, man-made as it is [pregnant pause] ??.and by a very few men
at that; in fact, a virtual cabal, a coterie, a coup de oeil???where
was I?.oh, yes, simply announce 'their' intentions:
"euphemism"-----less expressive or direct!

Cover up would be direct-----not their style; you see, even the term
describing the misdeed(s) must be, well, covered up.

Pray, pray very hard; next time, 'legerdemain'.
