Having sacked and pillaged a brace of settlements along the edge of the
Empire, merciless unto child and woman alike, Titus Buttochius's effete
Greek-born legions were beset by a strange ennui, having, of course,
conscientiously objected to any 'raping' ; instead, they spent their
furloughs at the an(nu)al phallus festival in bathhouses in the nearby
enclave of A'tergo.
