The Pearl Fisher
flickering kisses on the waterfront
flowers washed in with the tide
as you throw leaves to the air
brush stale perfume against my lips
and the boys by dawn tide
dive for sealed oyster shells
pearls of sweat drop from your belly
glitter by the water's edge
bubble up in your wine glass
part and rise between your lips
and the boys by morning tide
dive for dreams of pink open flesh
fleeting kisses on the break water
flowers wrapped around driftwood
move away with the dying tide
brush our perfume along harbour walls
and the boys by evening tide
return with empty broken bottles.
