act 1; Angel:
7:45 pm, Tuesday Night,
You came downstairs late,
Into that basement classroom,
Up front you took your seat,
Three rows ahead before me,
And then all I saw was you.
Blue outfit high cheekbones,
Butterscotch skin, sadness for eyes,
That was the beginning, here is now,
No change, save for the sadness,it's gone.
But when -I look at you,
I see our sweet devotion.
And when- I look at you,
I still burn within.
And when- I look at you,
You're still my Angel,
My "secret sin",
When I Look at you.
act 2;Timeless
Hot day in August.
I was at your father's house
Cutting his grass in humidity
Sweat poured, gnats rose like dust
The sun used me as its anvil
Through the sliding glass doors,
You came sauntering' swaying,
Chocolate hands holding a cold beer,
Lovely seductress of relief
And in that heat of summer,
My own volcano rose within,
And you never knew, would know,
How that summer can never end.
For when-, I look at you,
Shameful fires burn
And when-, I look at you,
I feel the mystery of the night.
Forever Timeless,forever young,
When I look at you.
act 3; Pulse
Two Deer in a forest; afraid to touch,
At every snapping twig we bolt,
Of different "species", of different"tribes",
But you are no deer, not to me,
You are vulpine and supple with tired eyes,
Quick smile, quick mind, quick walk,
You wear your cynism, your protection is talk
You touch easily and a match is lit,
It flares in the room of gas that is my soul,
And in that moment, the "deer" takes flight,
Too frightened to ackowledge the sensation.
For when - I look at you,
My pulse skips its rythm,
And when- I look at you ,
My soul burns within,
And when- I look at you,
A forbidden intoxication,
My secret sin,
When I look at you!
