"Writing"

One supposes "writing" is like composing.
You wait for inspiration to come flooding in
and take its usual course.
Not today. Not any day.
Inspiration is a fickle mistress.
You think you've struck lucky and then...
...then she leaves. And what are you left with?

"Writing"

One thinks that maybe today will be diff'rent.
Ideas come readily and words flow; put on
paper with parallel ease.
No such luck. It falls apart.
Words to the music of "I told you so."
Sense taunts me and leaves me dispirited.
But what I really want to say is...
