Chapter 1, A beauitiful betrayal
Ariala stood waiting for the train to arrive, at Kings Cross. She
tapped her foot impatiently, and stared at the clock. A small black
girl in a hat and scarf also waited for the train. Nobody noticed her.
The train came, but all too soon. All the little black girl remembered
was a huge light, and stepping backwards. She did the action far too
slowly. The train crashed. Among the bodies was the little girl's. Her
thougts rested and her body relaxed. She was as free as she had ever
been. That was because she was dead.
It was only Ariala that went away whistling a long forgotten pop song.
She pick pocketed some money, and bought herself some dinner. Then she
walked the streets, looking for a target. A small boy walked about
nearby.
'Oy, you. Wanna get some money real cheap?' she asked the boy. The boy
nodded. She produced twenty pounds. The boy nodded more eagerly. Ariala
beckoned him to follow her. He trotted by her like a dog.
They went into a close alleyway, and behind a wall. There was a
muffled yell, but then silence. Ariala stood holding the boy, and a
knife in the other. The boy was bloodstained, with a marble in his
mouth to keep him quiet. Ariala walked away without a care in the
world.
