A Walk in the park
Walking through the park,
On the way home from school,
That is a good thing.
Walking through the park,
With a very good friend,
That is a better thing.
Walking through the park,
With a girl i'll call 'Anonymous'
That is a more confusing thing.
The term companionable silence',
Grows sudden sharp edges,
Silent queries fall to the abyss.
I walk looking downwards, as ever
Stands my custom.
I watch feet falling, and rising again.
Queries rise, and queries fall,
She knows what I feel,
but does she believe?
Questions bite, consuming all,
Does she expect me,
To act upon it?
We reach the fork,
We part our ways,
I watch her,
And her ponytail,
Till she is out of sight,
And I ask,
Is this love?
