Broken

All alone she walks through the iron gates
Of hell, each day, each morning.
Dread in her heart and tears in her eyes
Their faces her only warning.
She knows what they have planned today
Her freedom and security shall be ripped away
Like yesterday.
Certainty cemented across their expressions
Teeth set in a regular, yet frightening sneer.
She bites hard on her lip, willing them, begging them
To forget her today, not come near.
Her skin is grazed and bleeding again
No tears this time, she can't let them
Know how she's screaming inside.
People should worry, when she cries at night
But no-one comes to comfort her.
People should protest at the bruises she suffers
But no-one cares to defend her.
All alone she walks through the iron gates
Of hell, each day, each morning.
Yet she is not alone, but one of many
Who will spend their lives in mourning,
Grieving their lost childhoods and praying
That someone will come to rescue them.
I hope that soon, they will meet their doom,
The inflictors, the baddies, the tormentors.
I hope that one day, someone will say
That bullying should carry a sentence.
They too should feel the hurt and the pain
Until they are shocked into repentence.
