Desert Storm

Cactus plants in the middle of nowhere,
Desperate attempts to cry out.
So isolated and so mutilated,
With their spikes all twisted and dried out.
But they're just dry because they don't need
The rain from the heavens above.
Cactus plants are so unlike flowers,
They never depend on our love.
Much like a girl once knew,
Or my accurately one I once saw.
She'd claim she was a romance escort,
But everyone called her a whore.
She didn't have to live in that lifestyle,
She had the support of her family and friends,
She just wanted to be that tough chic,
And forget about all her loose ends.
But we all know she was truly weak,
For her pimp always broke her bones,
She'd owed money for heroin and coke,
And couldn't pay back all her loans.
For she needs a desert storm,
Someone to rain
Down on her
And guide her way,
But she keeps running,
Away from the past,
I'm sorry Sarah but
Time's too damn fast.
It's going to catch you up when
You least expect it,
You left another life others would crave.
You could go back to
The good life,
But you'd rather get drugged up in a rave.
