Diamond-hearted Coal

For days I wondered deep within my multi-layered being..
is any knightly man really worth the honor of my receptive soul
In a fairy-tale ending world I would have answered yes, quite
freely
but now my frigid heart is icy, formulated into diamond-hearted
coal
Tracerfire from rocket launch, bittersweet in breathing memories
no global warning signs, the flanked attack tricked me into limboed
spaces, open
A hiding place beneath the first onslaught of appealing landslide
vaguries
offers massive teardrops, hailing fallout, no means of formulated
coping
Bereft of polished silvery sunshine and gentle whispering rain
Exiled, banishment questions raised left me weakly wasted, not
confidently strong
Life without cherished love is tarnished brass, an overbearing void of
torrid pain
The closing verse is brittle numbness, Life's finality sung in lemures
deadly song
