Dog in Summer

DOG IN SUMMER

This morning
Felt bloody knackered
Had to get up
10 past 6
Take dog to park
Before wife left for work
(small children still sleeping soundly)

Walking over grass fresh dew seeps through my canvas shoes to wet my
socks
but the dawn breeze, with warm arms and cool hands, lifts me gently
from my weary state
It feels good to be out
