The dogs name is Judy

from the ABC set The dogs name is Judy
The dogs name is Judy she comes from far away. From a place called
Kiowa,
she loves children very much and loves to play ball and catch.
Sometimes,
three times a day she loves to go for a walk, out in the country, but
also
likes to chase rabbits just to play for fun. These events take place
all
summer, but in the winter she likes to go back home, where the sun
shines
all day and the nights are warm also.
The children love Judy, as her temperament is very docile and she
is
always happy. Yes indeed even her name Judy is a beautiful name,
she
certainly stands up to the name. then one day Judy decides to go walks
by
herself out in the bush where there is danger, she does not realise
this
situation as after straying half of one mile she is confronted by
an
enormous cheetah, fortunately, cheetahs are friendly this to is to
her
advantage, because they talk and play games running around for
hours.
but Judy does not realise that darkness is coming soon and she must go
home,
this the cheetah tells her and about the dangers that come after dark,
so
off she goes disappointed that she has to leave her new found friend
behind,
she arrives tired and exhausted after being chased by a hungry lion,
and she
only just makes it back to safety in the gate just as the guards
were
closing it for the night.
but next morning she is her usual self, jumping around as the children
come
out to play, then the fathers of the children call them in as there is
a
storm coming, also Judy knows that she must take cover as the
tropical
storms wreak havoc with the huts.
then no sooner was she safe the rain started first drips then a heavy
deluge
descended upon the village scattering all those caught out in the
pouring
rain, soon the river bed which had been dry all summer began to fill
up, and
the water began to flow over the banks, this is terrible said Iowa
the
chief, what shall we do shall we abandon the village as the water
rose
higher and higher no said the elders there is nowhere to go we must
battle
with the raging current now endangering the small village of Kiowa, so
the
villagers began to build barriers of bags of dirt, sand anything that
would
stop the flooding waters. the deluge lasted for three hours then
stopped, as
suddenly as it began, giving great relief to the struggling villagers
who
were getting weary, as there was little food to sustain them.
but now the rains had stopped they were able to go to the town twenty
miles
away to buy corn and other seeds to plant, but the waters had not
receded in
some parts, thus some river beds were difficult to cross but the five
carts
and oxen were strong willed and determined to go to get the food and
stores
needed, the journey took a week of struggling through the mud and
uprooted
trees that were scattered everywhere but confidence in each other plus
the
teamwork involved the team made it to their destination.
then they hurried to load up the carts and get back home to the
hungry
villagers, the journey was easier going back as the roads were now
clear and
they all made the trip back safe, but when the team arrived there was
great
jubilation as the villagers hurried to meet the goods bought in town
even
Judy was very glad to see them as she ran up jumped on the carts and
licked
the faces oh how she barked and was really wagging her tail
really
excitingly,
Soon the children were fed and there was a party going on with all
happy and
dancing around the fire, the party went on after dark. They all settled
down
for the night even Judy was tired as she snuggled up to the children in
the
hut. then next morning Judy was her usual; self, barking to waken up
the
children as it was time to play, yes indeed the sun was shining and it
was a
lovely day yes indeed a dogs life is wonderful when there is someone to
love
them.
