To Dust
The candle flickers lighting up the room.
The twilight hour approaches; dusk has come
Silence fills the air inside the tomb
A life is ended, started in the womb.
Now dust remains; moved by a ghostly hum
The candle flickers lighting up the room
The echo of a long-forgotten tune
Is trapped inside. Denied the moon or sun
Silence fills the air inside the tomb.
Above the casket reads the carven Runes
"Now lost for ever; Father, Brother, Son."
The candle flickers lighting up the room
A wilting lily spray fades all too soon
A paradox of blooms in cold autumn
Silence fills the air inside the tomb
But fate, and time, will fill the Catacomb
The mortal vice grips each and everyone
The candle flickers lighting up the room
Silence fills the air inside the tomb
