Grado's cathedral
would draw a kiss
from the shade to the light
of the portal, though,
my bliss
had vanished seaward
in the show of your peacock's wheel
I rocked and reeled,
now I lie low for you along the line of columns
I chase you in the chiselling of lace,
your fleeting hand is in the holy water's bowl,
tangled I am in twinings and dovetail angles,
you fade in alabaster,
flickers in the rosewindow the sun, your laughter,
I gasp like fish in the mosaic
a maze
Grado's cathedral
would draw a kiss
from the shade to the light
of the portal, though,
my bliss
had vanished seaward
