Flame of Hope

Flame of Hope

the flame of hope once burned brightly...
blazing in my heart.........igniting soul....
a glimpse of feeling whole.

intruding world.......intruding past.....
intruding obligations....
bright light flickers.......as the setting sun.

the flame of hope is dimming.........
mere ember.......
extinguished by time.......and reality.

perhaps the dawn will re-ignite
the flame within my soul........
and isn't that the hope?
