The Peacock
In return for cake
The peacock's display
Was given to me
On this summer day
This male seemed so pleased
With my company
No hen was in sight
He had only me
Targeted feathers
Were proudly unfurled
Which lifted and cheered
My view of the world
His call was a croak
But blending with geese
He picked up the crumbs
And wanted so to please
With tourist's camera
His image was caught
Taken round the globe
Where children are taught
