Gain

Looked at the sun
For a few minutes each day
My mother warned me
Blind you'll be, she'd say
Nothing like the bliss
Of nothingness, where we're warm
They've taken it away
Long fields of grass, where we're born
Feel nought but this void
False arms clasp, for summer's toys
These days corpse long ago
A carrion without voice
Too easy to say
That I love in such a way
I mensa hide my love
Often watching from above
Grinding axes cut
From this sadness, nothing but
You used sticks and stones
To build our retirement homes
For this we give our prayer
'Dear lord deliver us from there'
'Comatose' she said, without thinking ahead
We say there's nothing gained
Soiled flowers for a seed of caring no more
We say there's nothing gained
Pity racks her brains, flakes away honest stains
We say there's nothing gained
Within this tattered shell, nurtures the bosom of hell
We say there's nothing gained
