God - The School Years
Just before mankind's birth
God was given a homework project
He called it; EARTH
He was told to make it
For the meek
And to hand it in
At the end of the week
Now God, of course
He was no fool
So he started with a
Molten ball
But, deciding it
Was much too dry
He put some clouds together
And called them SKY
He commanded the sky
"Rain for me please"
And thus were born
The oceans and seas
On day three
He made a wish
And soon the waters
Filled with fish
And, very soon
As he had planned
Some evolved
And moved onto land
In Water and on soil
His creatures flourished
They had children
Who grew up nourished
And on day four
He caused more showers
And everywhere
There were trees and flowers
On day five
He invented man
The pride and joy
Of his galactic plan
Then women came
To charm the men
And new children
Appeared again
On day six
He looked and saw
That man had invented
Hate and War
He stopped and cried
And, on day seven
Wept tears of sadness
Down from heaven
His tears filled the oceans
And soaked the ground
And all God's creatures
Slowly drowned
So, into the bin
He threw the ball
Gave up on his assignment
And dropped out of school
