Grandma Almost Shot the Preacher Man
In my capacity as a wedding photography, you might say that I've seen a
lot of strange events, but nothing that matched the events of May 11.
This was a wedding that was the Murphy's law of weddings. Murphy's law,
for those that are unfamiliar with the tern, is a term used to describe
a happening where anything that can go wrong, can, which is exactly
what happened.
There were many small mishaps, which delayed the wedding. The rings
were lost, the wrong flowers were delivered and members of the bridal
party were late but the bride and groom were determined to proceed
despite these occurrences. The Preacher began the service and all went
fine until he got to the part about if anybody could show just cause
why they should not be married. It was at that point that people
started standing up and forming a line. The people each in turn gave
their reason why the couple should not be married. Some people were
against the bride and others against the groom. After the Preacher had
listened to several people some of which had reasonable reasons and
others not so plausible, he finally asked if there was anybody present
who believed that they should be married.
It was at that point that a little old lady pushed her way though the
crowd and stepped forward. The room grew quiet as everybody waited to
hear what she had to say. Then she spoke in creaky, almost inaudible
voice but she was unmistakably clear. She said I have waited 61 years
for my granddaughter to be married and nobody's going to stop this
wedding. It was at this point that she took a gun out of her straw
handbag and said get on with it preacher man. The Preacher paused a
moment and she shot out the vase behind him.
The old lady turned around and let loose. She shot out the windows and
put a hole in the wall. This was enough to get the Preacher to resume
the service. After the service the people tried to have her arrested
but they couldn't find her. She must have slipped out sometime after
the vows were said. That was the last wedding I photographed. It 's
just too dangerous. I heard though that the couple is still married and
celebrated their 10th year anniversary this year.
