The hour after the Theology exam

- 753 reads
I wanted a bowl
Or a baptismal font,
And I should know, after all.
Today, God lies heavy on my tongue,
And I was not inspired
To write on lines, dotted,
Distorted opinions,
And I told what I knew
For what it is worth, God
Not what I wanted.
Rise and fall, lines
Sinuous, deceiving-
Still waters run deep,
And the rim of the vase
Is bathed in silver, and
Halo-ed in holiness.
