One morning
my mother told me
that my grandmother had told her
that her mother (my mothers grandmother)
had told her
"Don't!"
and "Don't trust men."
This was an ancient lesson
handed down by mothers.
I decided to take her word for it.
So for some time I didn't
and I didn't trust men.
One afternoon my father said
"You have to trust the youth of today
or else why should they bother being trustworthy?"
So although I didn't trust men
I decided to take his word for it.
That evening I stopped didn'ting
and trusted the youth of today
and we burnt down an orchard to celebrate.
