You can go online, and look at any website, and I swear EVERY SINGLE
one of them has at least one line of HTML in it. HTML is everywhere,
and cannot be avoided when creating a website, even if you use
Javascript or CSS as a substitute, HTML lays down the basis of your
site. Even those who use the simple five minute site builders cannot
escape HTMLs ever growing claws. You see, though sitebuilders normally
generate a (duh) site, its normally 'not very good'. And once its been
created, is frowned upon.
I must admit to using these in the very beginning. But they are
rubbish. You cannot edit them once they are finished, and cannot use
HTML as it mucks up the design. Realising this, I turned to HTML
Editors.
Like many HTML virgins, I turned to the Geocities HTML editor. It was
simple and nonthreatening, and I got along great with it. And still do,
although I was momentarily converted to Freewebs, the fact that it was
never up-and-running sent me crawling back to Geocities, my tail
between my legs apologetically.
But heres my point. I took long enough to get to it, but its finally
time. And thats the point. Time.
I started learning HTML roughly three years ago. I buckled down, and
spent the whole of that first summer holiday gazing at codes until they
clicked. And when they clicked, I learnt some more.
And this is what I'm saying. Adults claim teenagers spend hours on the
computer doing nothing (especially the ones I know, and who are they to
talk), meanwhile the teenagers, put very simply, are learning a new,
and highly difficult language. HTML.
Adults may claim we are wasting our time, but they're ignorant. We can
boast "our HTML is far better than yours".
I think adults have gotten this generation of teenagers all wrong. They
are generation X, we generation Y. We see through different eyes. We
are seen as yobs, punks, lay-abouts. But thats wrong. That was a
generation ago.
I'm not getting off the PC in a hurry. But the teenage stereotyping
doesn't seem to be going anywhere either.
center... font size = 7... color = red... unfair!

We take time from our lives to learn html, like adults learn to drive.
They get a certificate when they 'know' how to. HTML teens never do.
They just keep on learning.
