You are begging in my hand,
Budding, throbbing,
Breathing purple life into
Your own veins.
I can't leave you,
but I could break you with a touch.
I won't let you down
When all you want is for me to smile,
And I'm trying hard to continue.
But I might crush you
Every time I wilt,
And Spring is so brief,
I'm scared to take you home.
