It Couldnt Get Any Worse

She stood watching. The sounds of the bass vibrated through the air
and under her feet. The lights seemed to get even brighter as she
started to walk away.
Sounds became muffled ; faces seemed to merge into one. ' Where is he
?' she thought, though it seemed that her mind was being replaced by
something that made her slightly edgy.
Her pace quickened. Everything was getting more intense ; the dancers
flew past her, the music seemed to grow louder and she ... well, she
felt as though her mind was turning inside out and back again.
Breathing heavily she stooped and looked around. A strong hand gripped
her arm whilst another gave her a bottle of water. It tasted like
nothing she'd experienced before. A wave of tiredness slipped over her
and she fell, deeper and deeper down til she hit the ground, only she
seemed to be sinking through it, couldnt stop herself if she
tried.
They had her now. And she could never go back. The music was the start
of it all, now the drugs had her in their clutches. She thought she
controlled them, until the next time when she gave up the fight . The
pills made everything surreal, they were an escape.
Only now she realised they weren't.
