K..ANGEL LEAVING

She came to me, but she was always there,
On my shoulder, taking care.

"Why have you come to me?" I said to her,
She bowed her head, brushed away a tear,
She said I have been with you for many a year.

"I've watched you cry I've watched you grow
Why I'm here I think you know,
Sixty and twenty years a full and rich life,
But every road has its end
Every dog has its day"
She hung her head she did not want to say.

But she did,
"On this day a new child is born
And she will need my guiding hand
I will watch her cry, watch her grow
Until it's time for her to go"

So close your eyes and slip away
I am leaving you today.
