THE KETROSIE
It all began in the year 1608, when a small boy was born in the city of
Alwie.
The boys name was Timon. Years passed, and the people of Alwie grew
loving Timon, for he was the most handsome boy in the whole of Alwie.
Many families with their daughters would visit Timons home, to convince
him to marry their daughters, but Timon was not interested at all. The
only thing that Timon was interested in, was Magic. Every sunday after
church, he goes straight to town and sits in the middle of the city,
and performs some magic. People would gather around him, and cheer up,
and say "Bless you my son, and let magic do you good."
Life for Timon was good, he could do magic, people loved him and gave
him a lot of blessings, until???
In the year 1624 it was Timon's 16th birthday. Timon decided to go out,
in the woods and have a nice walk through the forest near the river
bank, to watch the sunset before his birthday party started. As he was
walking, in the middle of the forest, filled with tall trees and a lot
of scary bushes, he heard a hissing sound behind him and something
hindered him. Without even taking a turn to look back, he ran straight
into the dark woods as fast as he could. He ran into the deep dark
forest called Venue, which was known as "The village of the unknown".
As soon as Timon heard the hissing had stopped he slowed down, and
without knowing he went bumping on a rock and went straight falling
down on some underground secret stairs leading to an opening. Timon got
up, he gazed around wondering where he were. Actually, the stairs lead
to an underground cave, covered with a lot of dust and spiderwebs and
other small creatures wondering around. It seemed like the place was
amboned years ago.
As he was looking around he saw white light coming towards a small
hole. Timon creeped slowly towards the hole following the white light.
He peeped into the hole, and suddenly a secret door from the wall
opened automatically. He walked towards the door and saw the white
light coming from a big iron-metal book covered with a lot of dust.
Timon picked up the book and opened it. On the first page of the book
it said, "And for all that honour, wish for a wish and let it be."
Timon opened the second page and it said "After all that hardship, let
magic set you free". He slowly closed the book ,held it tight , gave a
devilish smile and ran home.
(After the party was over, the next day)
Timon woke up early in the morning, set in his bed, making sure the
door is locked, he opened the big iron-metal book on the third page and
it said "The Ketrosie has woken up, once more". Timon got up, looked
out of the window, and he felt so alive as if he has been cured from an
illness form of rebirth. He opened on the fourth page and it said "One
shall leave home while young and spread the word of the ketrosie. And
for those who will go against it, shall be punished to death! And for
all those who wont go against the ketrosie, they shall be rewarded with
the most powerful magic ever seen by the human eyes."As soon as Timon
read that sentence, he dropped the book on the floor and thought to
himself "If I go against the ketrosie, it shall punish me to death, but
if I don't, it shall reward me with great magic." So he thought for a
second and said thought to himself, "So let it be!"
The following day, Timon talked to his parents about moving away from
home. Timon was so respected that his own parents felt guilty saying
no, so they agreed. Without wasting any time, Timon began to pack up
his stuff.
As he was packing, the big-metal book of the ketrosie started glooming
and changing colours and suddenly everything went still. And time went
faster than usual. It went all the way to the year 3000! And again
everything went back to moving and time slowed down. But for Timon, he
found himself standing in the middle of the street, wearing a suit and
a tie, looking very tidy than usual. He was surprised to see kids
running around shooting guns at each other and cars were automatically
moving. Suddenly he saw a car coming towards him and it stopped right
infront of him. The front window opened and their was a lady inside and
she said "Honey, I thought you were at work, is there something wrong?"
asked the lady, who seemed to be Timon's wife! Timon became speechless,
the home he knew, isn't the home he knows anymore.
The lady took out the same book Timon had, the ketrosie and gave it to
him and she said, "By the way, you left this morning without your
book!", and she handed it to Timon and as she drove away she shouted
"Don't forget to pick up John from school!" Timon looked at the book
and then he opened on the fifth page and it said " A wife and a son,
what more would you need, let magic do you good by spreading the word
of Ketrosie, just like you promised!
Timon held the book tight, dropped down on his knees, opened on the
sixth page, but it was blank. Again he flipped on the seventh page and
the eighth and all the way to the last page, but they were all
blank.
"How could I be so stupid", he thought. He looked at the book and he
said, "You betrayed me!".
"5 seconds, 4 seconds, 3 seconds, 2 seconds, 1 second, 7 pm!" he
thought. "Where am I going to go at this hour?" he asked him
self.
Timon decided to take a walk to clear up his mind. As he was about to
take a turn, he heard noises of someone screaming and shouting for
help. "Help... Somebody help my poor baby!"
He quickly tracked the voice from where it came from. Standing there,
was the most beautiful woman, Timon has ever seen but the woman and the
baby were both trapped in the house that was on fire though nobody
cared. Before he lost his mind, he quickly smashed the window with his
boots and helped carry out the baby first, then he had to smash another
window which was in another room, that the woman was, helping her
out.
"My house, my paintings, my kitchen! It is all ruined!" the woman
cried.
