Last Love

Tears trickled down her cheeks,
As the waves lapped at the sand,
Moist and somewhat rhythmic.
Her heart pounding,
Her mind racing,
Memories flashing like lightning.
Sand brushed her feet,
The breeze ruffled her hair,
Tears rolled down her cheeks,
and made her face so fair.
Memories calming and taunting,
Soothing and daunting,
Cutting and caressing.
She wanted to scream to the world,
The love she held,
For the man in her heart,
and in her grasp.
As the tears streamed,
and the ashes were released on the breeze,
She realised love was all
That could ever last.
