Life
SERVE ME UP ANOTHER SLICE OF LIFE
From that cold slab in the corner
Garnish it with doubt and wonder
And some mustard would be nice
God, I could eat this stuff all day
I never tire of it
Every time I take another bite
It tastes different
Sometimes sweet
Sometimes bitter
but always different
Yesterday, I had a whole plateful to myself
I know, I know
I shouldn't be so greedy
But nowadays
It's been in short supply
So I eat my fill
While I still can
And you know
It's not fattening either!
You could eat mountains of it
And never put on an inch!
BLOODY BRILLIANT STUFF, LIFE!
I'd LOVE to meet the bloke who invented it
And, you know.
The funny thing is that
When it's all finished
And there's no more left to go round
I reckon I WILL!
