I hadn't planned to meet you
'Till I was thirty-four.
I wanted to be older
Before I felt this sure.
I hadn't thought I'd find you,
It wasn't in The Plan.
I haven't got the time right now
To love the perfect man.
I've still not been to Paris,
I've still not been to Rome.
I haven't even started on
My life-defining tome.
So go away - I'm sorry -
I'm only twenty-four.
You're here a decade early
You really are a bore.
Who cares that you are perfect?
Who cares that you are mine?
Who cares that my new habit
Is a tendency to whine?
You're still here far too early
And so you cannot stay.
I'll call you when I need you
Now please just go away.
