Life's Lonely Struggle

The monster that is the world,
Threatens and worries you,
Making you hide,
Like a bear in hibernation,
Not surfacing,
Until it is safe,
And there is no one to see,
Anxiety plays across your face,
As you are sure everyone,
Watches you,
Criticizes you,
Hates you,
You feel intimidated,
Scared and frightened,
Believing yourself to be unexciting,
Tiresome and dreary,
Of no interest to anyone,
You curl up in your derision,
Angry at the world,
yourself,
your insecurity
As chains wrap ever tighter,
Around your soul,
You pace through life,
Like a caged animal,
Searching for a way out,
To free your soul,
And become part,
Of everyday society,
No one can help,
The chains are of your own making,
And can only be shattered,
By a show of strength,
A self belief,
That will propel you from,
The very prison,
That you have hidden in.
