Mathematical Indifference
By: Alexander
I should tell you now that when sounds are either too monotone, quiet
or just plain boring, my ears have a tendency to bleed. Doctors tell me
that in an attempt to flee the boredom, they begin to let out blood,
thus creating a crisis, relieving the bore.
This causes a problem you see because I am a mathematician at a
respectable university. The sound of a math conversation is riveting to
me but quite unexciting for my ears. The boredom of math you see,
causes them to bleed, which causes me to dislike math. But, I love
Math! But I also hate it. Assuming that love is positive ten and hate
is negative ten, averaging these two emotions ( [10 + (-10)]/2) brings
us to the number 0 which is neutral. So, mathematical, my bleeding ears
cause my Mathematical Indifference. HAHA!
