Mount Olympus or O wonder of Phartts

And so it came to be or rather it is commonly acknowledged (but
easily refuted) that the males of the species engaged in more
meaningful conversations (when left to themselves) than the females who
are happy (as the world goes) with such topics that more or less
improve on their appearances . . . but I digress.
Meanwhile at Mount Olympus . . . Jupiter's all guy Monday night

I believe it was in fact a dog who brought up the subject having found
no better way of disposing, after a generous consumption of Chili con
Carne, of the gaseous rumblings in its insides. Acknowledging its
profound significance by an astonished two second moment of silence,
followed by peals of mirth, the occupants' minds actively engaged in
bringing about reminiscences of their own accomplishments in producing
this kind of uproarious and odoriferous sounds. The dog, uninterested
on the guys mountainous bellies (except for fleetingly imagining the
Cyclopean adipose morsels in them there paunches), amazingly lost track
at all times, of their ramblings and contented itself in furiously
engaging in a thorough scratching tirade of its own. A delightful
operation all canines go through at some point in their lives.
"I am no doubt the biggest and greatest producer of such noises"
thundered Jupiter. "Everyone has heard me in a storm." "That's nothing
compared to how quickly and accurately I disseminate their fumes"
intervened Mercury, "what's sound compared to smell?" Neptune had to
content himself with listening, neither clatter nor scent being
appropriately propagated in the oceans. Uranus on his part reminded
them about his name Ur-anus that being the most commonly known outlet
for both noise and aroma. "I think" continued Saturn "that I bring
general havoc among unsuspecting females by placing them in an
environment conducive to reckon with their karmas as former phartters
in previous lives. I made them marry especially stench producing
husbands." "And I" concluded Pluto "get them all at the end, at my
mercy for eternity."
And so it came to pass that such an innocent incident brought out the
truth of the real originating source of the behavior at Olympus.

characters - of the innocent )
