The Muffin Man
By D G Lennon
Do you know the muffin man,
The muffin man,
The muffin man,
Do you know the muffin man,
Who lives on Drury Lane.
No I don't believe that I've ever met the fellow,
The name is unfamiliar,
And he doesn't ring a bell,
Doubt I've ever met the Muffin Man,
And I don't know Drury Lane.
Oh come on, the muffin man,
The muffin man,
The muffin man,
Everybody knows the muffin man,
He lives on Drury Lane.
Oh, I know: is he six foot six?
Wears a stupid looking toup?,
And his wife's called Claire,
Doesn't sell muffins; don't know how he got the nickname,
And he never ever leaves his chair.
Yes that's him, the muffin man,
The muffin man,
The muffin man,
You've clearly met the muffin man,
So you must know Drury Lane.
No, don't recall anyone of that description,
But he sounds like a fruitbat,
And I bet he needs a shrink,
So no I don't know the muffin man,
Anyway what of him? Oh his wife's just died.
