: We were so lucky to have this house, miles from anywhere on a tiny
bending road shrouded by trees,we could sit in the garden
: and would hardly ever hear a car motor
: bike or truck go by. We thank that lottery machine. The big 40 oh
well it's not that bad when you get there is it? So Sam and I sit in
the garden on this lovely summer evening watching the last of the
sunshine shafted through the trees, Sam joked and said
: " hey tommorrow you can say you were 39 yestetday"
: we both laughed. Not only was I 40 today,it had been one year since we
came to live here, a claw of sadness
: gripped my heart, thats when we lost old Meg our old dog, with moving
in and things she just wandered off through the trees to the road, well
you can guess the rest.
: All of a sudden there was an almighty crash and a twisting of metal
and a glimpse of a fading tale light
: which melted away as the drivers foot let go.
: We ran through the trees to that twist in the road, my moblie phone
in hand ready to call (999) or (911)
: But the road was clear peacfull. as the last of the sun shafted
through the trees a glint of something caught my eye it was a coin or
bottle top I bent down to pick it up "oh GOD SAM it's Megs name tag" we
stayed and gazed at the spot for a while, but that was a year ago, I was
41 yeasterday.
