Naked skyline

They once stood so tall,
Two buildings in the sky.
In a matter of hours,
Destroyed we ask why.

Beautiful lady liberty,
Had a front row seat.
What she once watched over,
Now a pile of concrete.

Statues have no emotions,
Nor can they cry,
I am willing to bet,
She had a tear in her eye.

Her good friends are gone,
And all is not fine.
She now watches over,
The naked skyline
