Ocean Creature

A big beautiful shell
waiting, sitting, breathing,
By chance and opportunity
I catch a glimpse of the
world around and I'm seeing,
I live in there and
THE WORLD IS MY OYSTER
Even the lifeless sands that
surround me, ocassionally penetrate
and lodge in my soft flesh creating
a precious pearl so small which grows
like wisdom through the ages
as I glide with the tide,
I am vulnerable to the touch,
cautious, brave, strong
Will I live long?
Life is the deep blue sea
which pushes, tosses and turns me,
like a sweet melody,
I am adventurous, nuturing, caring
and aware but do not come to scare,
I watch the seaweed which hangs and
floats like magnificent dark curtains,
I wonder who is hiding in there,
Could it be a wild creature ducking,
diving, tricking nature and digesting,
Just to thrive and stay alive,
My thick exterior armour
protects my delicate interior,
As these wild ones move closer,
I am suddenly fast, furious and curious
but once again with the rythmn of life
my shell closes,
I am a part of it
I live in there and
THE WORLD IS MY OYSTER.
